Serves: 4

Ingredients :

2 small cloves garlic, minced
½ cup unsalted, cooked or canned black beans, rinsed, drained
1/8 cup low-sodium chicken broth
¼ teaspoon paprika (optional)
1/8 teaspoon ground cumin
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon chopped cilantro
4 ounces lean ground chicken
4 raw almonds, soaked in water for 8 to 9 hours
¾ teaspoon raw cacao powder
1/8 teaspoon dried oregano
1/8 teaspoon ground coriander
A pinch ground cinnamon
Water, as required

Directions :

1. Add a tablespoon of water into a pan and let it heat over medium-high heat. Once the water starts steaming, stir in the garlic. Cook for about a minute or until you get a nice aroma.
2. Stir in the chicken. As you stir, break the chicken into smaller pieces.
3. Add a tablespoon of water whenever the water dries up in the pan. When meat is cooked, turn off the heat. Add black beans and stir.
4. Peel the almonds and add them into a blender. Also add broth, cacao, oregano, coriander, cinnamon, paprika, cumin, and garlic powder and blend until smooth.
5. Add the chicken and black bean mixture and blend until smooth.
6. Serve.
7. Cilantro is to be added while blending, only for stage 3 or 4.
